Like the tester I built for myself

I needed a tester that included Speakon capability. This one has everything I'm likely to encounter when I'm building cables or out on a gig. I love the super bright LEDs and the rotary switch. My other tester has the LED grid that I have to figure out every time I use it. This Tenma is much more intuitive and reminds me of the cable tester I built for myself in a plastic mic box thirty years ago. A bit larger and heavier than I expected but still fits in my toolbox. Very solidly built. Great value for the $$.

    Amazing device!

I have a Whlrlwind cable tester and it works fine, but costs $75. This one was under $35, less with a promo code. It is NOT plastic but very sturdy metal. I am amazed at the number of different types of cables it tests. Just wish it tested CAT5 as you see more and more on stage these days. So bottom line is I am trying to justify buying another. Yeah, it is that good! Regards, Drybones

Best investment ever. No more guess work on checking my custom cables. Great at the gigs as well to find those pesky broken cables. A must have for any sound company dealing with vast amounts of audio cables.

    Great tester, bright lights

I have only used this tester a few times since I purchased it, but it does what it is supposed to do. The only complaint I have is that the lights are very bright. I'm sure you could use this outdoors in bright sunlight with no problem. Inside, the lights are so bright I have to hold my thumb over them to read the legend. It is a great value for testing virtually any audio cable.

Great Time Saver on the Job

    Overall: 4 out of 5
    Value:
    Quality:

I bought this specifically for a critical sound job in which I would have limited time to set up, and huge expectation of performance once the show began. I needed to be able to diagnose problems quickly, correctly, and without hesitation. This box paid for itself the first time I pulled it out of the box. I found a bad cable on set up, and was able to get back up and running with plenty of time for the sound check and still hit the broadcast on time. It's easy to use. Intuitive to understand, and versatile in real world systems, and circumstances. Good quality build, with the right feature set, and very good value for the money. I've recommended it multiple times.

I'm in a band and this great little tool has already proved it usefulness. It can test all types of cables and from one type connector to another like XLR to TRS (1/4"). I have found bad/intermittent grounds other intermittent issues.
